I would much rather see traffic lights over the roundabout options. School traffic turns the roundabout at Mills and Ivy into a mess. We have a whole lot of older drivers in that part of the county and they have difficulty with the entire concept of the roundabouts and yield signs. I constantly have people in front of me pull up to the yield sign and stop, then they look, and if there isn't another car in or about to enter the roundabout, they go. I've seen 30 and 40 cars lined up waiting on the car at the yield sign to go during rush hour.

Someone sitting at a yield sign is what the car horn is for.

The whole Conley, Mills Rd, Worthington Rd, County Home Rd 4 way stop signs and Hollywood Xroads...accessing 3 of the largest schools in Pitt Co (Wintergreen, Conley, Hope) is a big mess.

Hopefully the County will do a little more to push DOT than installing a small turn lane. NONE of the roads/intersections are able to carry the capacity....every school day.

This is good news. I'm surprised Winterville's little downtown hasn't blossomed with their population boom....

I agree the State Theater looks better but overall, it's a major disappointment to me. They took an old vintage theater and installed bland commercial strip mall window and doors? Couldn't someone have done a better design job to ensure it retained it's vintage look and feel? Opportunity lost. I know it's not all about the looks, but they blew a great opportunity.
