Hatteras is beautiful. The Yacht, and living is more luxury than the other Hatteras Island cities.

I love the look of Buxton as it seems to be alot original architecture plus it has the lighthouse.

Next time we go back we will stay in Avon since it only town that has supermarket and movie theater. Plus I love the canals with turtles swimming in it. and ir about the middle of the island.

Buxton has a market, but it isn't a chain. Plus Hatteras has Burrus Red & White. And don't forget about the Village Market in Avon. A lot better than Food Lion when you need something quick.

I haven't read the specifics, but after a beach gets "picked" is it retired? I just don't see how a beach could be a top 10 one year, then not ranked.

I remember many, many years ago at Burrus's watching a clammer pour out his catch on the counter for sale. I don't really know why this one event at the store has stuck out in my mind all these years. The same day I remember a cute little girl at the register trying desperately to be tolerant of a "touron".
Days gone by.

Paradise. I was in heaven just sitting there on the beach. I also love the number one beach they picked - the sand really is a thing of wonder.
