Trying to get a feel for what age range and nightlife scenes are like for the various Cleveland areas, and what's best for a mid-20s guy who goes out a few times a week. Does one place have more bars or restaurants? Full of people who aren't too friendly? Anywhere with a music scene (and what kind)? Where are you more likely to find college kids, or the much-too-professional crowd, where's a medium? Etc, etc.. Thanks.

Ohio City is more young, hipster, wealthy. Tremont strikes me as skewing a bit older, to single or childless 30 or 40 somethings. Detroit Shoreway I don't know much about, but I think tends to draw a mix, and a substantial gay population. Coventry tends to be the hottest area for College kids, with Case Western and John Carroll both nearby. Best music venues are in North Collinwood (Beachland Ballroom), Coventry (Grog Shop), Ohio City (Happy Dog).

Happy Dog is NOT in Ohio City, it's on Detroit & 58th, Detroit Shoreway/Gordon Square.

I don't see Tremont as any older, in fact, I think it'd be the opposite. In general, Tremont and Ohio City are very similar- yuppy core areas and rough around the edges, popular with 20s and 30s people. Detroit Shoreway is not as developed as Ohio City and Tremont, but I think more interesting than both. Also close to the lake with a lot of up and coming things happening there.
