You know UTEP is nothing special. you build anything in those mountains they will look nice, the other campuses made a special effort to make their campuses look nice

I vote for Rice. SMU is pretty, but Rice is prettier. The whole SMU area is very upscale and unfortunately retains an elitist vibe. Rice on the otherhand artfully mixes wealth with students. I love UT's campus but Rice's architecture is better, I am not too fond of some of the spanish styled buildings on UT's campus.

San Antonio has some beautiful universities. University of the Incarnate Word, Our Lady of the Lake and Trinity University. UTSA is more modern.

Speak for yourself; I like it:

Rice and the others are nice....by Texas standards. However, the really can't compare to the colleges on the East Coast in attractiveness imo.

as I said before, Rice is comparable to schools elsewhere, and besides the thread is about Texas universities.

UTEP looks like a cheesy Vegas timeshare resort rather than a university

What are you speaking on??? Attractiveness or Academics??? If it's the latter, than I agree, but if you're speaking on looks; than no.

you gotta be kidding me. Rice is way more beautiful than a handful of schools on the east coast and academics are just as good, if not better

Yeah Jluke is way off on this one, Rice is beautiful and it has consistently ranked somewhere around 15 in the US for sometime now. I don't know how else he wants it to compare.

The only thing I can think of is the low enrollment
