This may have been discussed before, but I just read the post about the most arrogant cities in the US....why not look at the nicer side of our country? What major cities have you all found to be the nicest? I was just in Nashville and found those folks to be VERY polite!

I don't know if I just was lucky or if it really is city wide, but I was surprised at how friendly most New Yorkers were. You picture those who live in NYC as rude, pushy, and stressed. Those I talked to were quite nice, friendly, and very helpful. Same as I ran into in Chicago, Atlanta, Nashville, Dallas, and even LA.

I've found Californians in general to be very friendly. They only get feisty on the road but that's everywhere.

According to social scientists conducting observation studies and experiments, NYC is friendliest BY FAR. Surprising huh? New Yorkers might be sort of brash, but they're remarkably considerate of others. Many New Yorkers will chide their fellows for littering. There really is a great sense of civility and social responsibility there...
