lol that's because you haven't had any real hurricanes. Try telling that to my parents in Naples who saw those new houses/condos trashed.

Not sure how you define a "real" hurricane, but Orlando has most certainly seen several of them back to back - despite what someone in Naples thinks.

Look it up.

You do realize that this in no way addresses the quality issue, right?

I won't even address the other part of your post as it is quite a ridiculous comparison. Try a comparison of NY trailers to Florida trailers if that is your intention, not a home to a trailer.

lol yes, this does address the issue. You're the one who brought it up. You said the Levitt houses are unattractive, so I showed you how nearly all Levit houses have been modified so much that they don't even look the same anymore. It also makes the house sturdier since most have added on and updated.

Of course people have added on and updated. They have done so out of necessity.

The houses were constructed so cheaply to begin with, none of them would still be standing if they hadn't been updated throughout the years.

Asheville new home subdivision .08 acre lots

Lot 6 Estes Court, Asheville, NC, 28806 - MLS #461117 - Single Family Home real estate - REALTOR.com®

Alpharetta new home subdivision, no lot size but you can see the home next door is about 8 feet away.

10988 Waters, Alpharetta, GA, 30022 - MLS #4007599 - Single Family Home real estate - REALTOR.com®

Travellers Rest right by Greenville new home subdivision .18 acre lots

142 Stillcountry Cir, Travelers Rest, SC, 29609 - MLS #1185896 - Single Family Home real estate - REALTOR.com®

As I said, in every state the developers tried to squeeze as many homes as they could in a subdivision during the boom.

I never said they were unattractive, though many are. We were discussing quality and I posted a link which discussed the lack of quality in many homes built right after the war.

My link was to counter your biased opinion which was backed up with no proof.

Yea and if a category 4 hurricane went through Long Island they would see just as much if not more devastation than Naples did.

Orlando has had a handful of tropical storms and cat. 1 hurricanes come through this past decade. And hurricane Charley was was a cat 2 when it came through Orlando and my house along with every other house in my area is still standing strong. I didn't see any significant damage to any homes.

Thats because the hurricane didnt hit Waterford Lakes that hard but it did blow out many porches. But go to Union park and more west and there was severe devestation.
