The thing is, Fort Lauderdale has a BIG skyline for the population of the city. Fort Lauderdale has a population of 160,000 people. And it has a skyline of a city of 500,000 people. I saw how BIG the skyline was, and was shocked. Fort Lauderdale has a VERY underrated skyline. It's always being overshadowed by Miami. Fort Lauderdale is like the Long Beach of South Florida, while Miami is Los Angeles. Los Angeles is the BIGGER city with more recognition, but Long Beach is in it's shadow, and is a GROWING city. Long Beach has always been it's own medium sized city. Fort Lauderdale has ALWAYS been in Miami's shadow, but is growing on it's own. But I digress, both Birmingham and Fort Lauderdale have nice skylines.

Fort Lauderdale looks better during the day than it does during the night.

Are you crazy? Fort Lauderdale metro is close to 2.5 million people and thats just in Broward County. Birmingham, OKC combined barely equal that.

I wish Fort Lauderdale had some historic highrises but its a younger city. I still think Fort Lauderdale's skyline is better. Also could someone post some better pics of Lauderdale's skyline from the beach.

This is a better view on this website's homepage

Bigger League? Wow, let's get back to reality. Fort Lauderdale has 4 towers over 400 feet compared to B-ham's 2. It's still much more shiny and asthetically pleasing than tiny little Birmingham. FL's metro area is much much larger and the setting is very attractive.

You're right, you can't compare the two. B-ham is much better compared to Jackson, MS or Raleigh, NC.

I don't know what all that "bigger league" talk was about, but you're probably right about Birmingham being more comparable to skylines like Raleigh's (it's much bigger than Jackson's though). It's more historic and varied than Fort Lauderdale's.
