Still haven't voted yet.....don't even know where the poll stands right now.

They are so close that I have refused (so far) to vote.

Pittsburgh has one of my favorite skylines in the US. This is a really easy choice for me.

The Pitts without a doubt

You have a CLEAR anti-Minneapolis bias. You just can't stay away from thread with Minneapolis in the title.

Oh this a good skyline thread, one that actually makes sense. I vote Pittsburgh because the way the buildings go together and with the topography and rivers.

This is quite possibly the best skyline showdown I've seen here on City-Data, and I would like to thank the OP for originating it.

This poll has a special meaning for me because Pittsburgh and Minneapolis were neck-and-neck in terms of where I was considering moving to once I had burned out of the Greater DC rat-race. Both cities are truly wonderful, lovely places, and both have very respectable skylines. I must give the slight nod to Pittsburgh, though, not only because of an expected personal bias because I now live here but also because of the added dramatic effects of the natural surroundings (the three rivers and the sloping topography all around the city) along with the wide varations in architectural styles and eras of the buildings overall.

Both cities have great skylines, and as was already pointed out Minneapolis might have an even more impressive skyline if it wasn't in competition with the state capital of St. Paul just 10 miles away. Pittsburgh is the "Paris of Appalachia" because you can come through the Fort Pitt Tunnel and just be smacked right in the face by the beauty of a cosmopolitan city majestically in front of you after passing through some relatively rural areas not far outside of town.

Minneapolis doesn't really have a comparable "BAM" moment when the skyline just sneaks up on you and smacks you upside the head.

I'm excited to see the end results. PNC Bank, which is headquartered in Pittsburgh, is about to break ground on a new 40-story structure Downtown as well, and we have another smaller building on the way a block down and across the street.
