If Minneapolis loses this competition, it's St. Paul's fault.
Downtown Minneapolis currently has about 27.7 million square feet of office space ( http://www.cushwake.com/cwmbs4q09/pd...polis_4q09.pdf )and downtown St. Paul has about 17 million square feet, (including government, owner-occupied office, and competitive space). There is also an additional 3.5 million square feet of medical space in downtown St. Paul. So yes, downtown St. Paul has had an effect on downtown Minneapolis.

BTW, downtown Pittsburgh has about 28 million sq. feet of office space ( http://www.cushwake.com/cwmbs3q09/pd...burgh_3q09.pdf)

Pittsburgh by far. Pittsburgh has 15 buildings 500 feet or taller and its extremely dense towards the south of downtown. u truly have to go there and walk around and just look up!

I didn't vote, but neither downtown is "by far" superior to the other.

I can see that comparison also.
Pittsburg's reminds me more of downtown while Minneapolis makes me think more of Midtown/Buckhead- more futuristic in nature. I'm leaning toward MSP because of those reasons, but I seem to be outnumbered

Regardless, I'd like to visit Pittsburgh and see it for myself before I can make a true comparison. I hear good things about Pitt and it really seems like my kind of town!

Aesthetically I'd give it to Pittsburgh. Its quite pretty. For "Wow" factor I'd give it to Minneapolis. Its more impressive.
