That is pretty much it in terms of whether this has already been done.

Denver's a pretty nice city too. If I were to choose based on cost of living alone, I'd pick Denver, but from what I've seen and friends have said, Seattle has a more vibrant art scene, more diversity, more food choices, and embraces the fringe element a whole lot more than Denver. Denver is sort of live Seattle ... on Republicans. Seattle is far more "liberal".

And it's worked out alright so far. I love it here

More diversity than Denver? You need to look at the stats:

Races in Denver:

White Non-Hispanic (51.9%)
Hispanic (31.7%)
Other race (15.6%)
Black (11.1%)
Two or more races (3.7%)
American Indian (2.2%)
Vietnamese (0.8%)

And actually, Denver is now majority-minority.

Minorities a majority in Denver - The Denver Post

Races in Seattle:

White Non-Hispanic (67.9%)
Black (8.4%)
Hispanic (5.3%)
Two or more races (4.5%)
Chinese (3.4%)
Filipino (2.8%)
Other race (2.4%)
Vietnamese (2.1%)
American Indian (2.1%)
Other Asian (1.8%)
Japanese (1.6%)
Korean (0.9%)
Asian Indian (0.5%)
