I think Oregon is more beautiful, but Washington has more to offer. I choose Washington.

I don't think I have personally experienced either enough. I have much respect for both. I have never been to Oregon but I have been to Spokane...........so, Oregon.

Oregon is more raw and natural. Half of Oregon's land is owned by the Feds and even more is tied up by the state. It's less spoiled than Washington, where I think less than 30% of the land is owned by the Feds. That said, I think Tahoma (Mount Rainier) is more impressive than Wy'east (Mount Hood), and the Olympic peninsula is incredible. The Sound and all the islands are beautiful though in Washington. The Oregon Coast is way better. Plus the Gorge with all the waterfalls...

Both are very politically polarized (Oregon is the most polarized state in the country), but in Oregon the population is still small enough and leans liberally enough to pass a lot of libertarian and progressive laws and policies (via initiative/referendum).

Washington's cities also seem to have no soul to them. Seattle is really cool and slick and has a real mystique to it, but Portland is friendly and open and offbeat. Spokane is kind of lame. Tacoma and Bellingham aren't exciting. Yakima sucks. Olympia is nice though, as are the towns on the peninsula like Port Townsend, Port Angeles, and Sequim. Oregon has Eugene, Ashland, Grants Pass, all the neat coastal towns like Astoria, Newport, Bandon, Port Orford...

I go with Oregon.

I like Washington more. The Cascades of Washington are much more impressive than Oregons, although Oregon has the better coast. The Olympic peninsula, San Juan Islands, Palouse region and wine country in Wash is really nice. I think Seattle is way prettier than Portland although I like Portland a lot too. Tough call, they are almost the same.

Oregon is a little more Californian so that automatically makes it better.

Seattle is the best city among both, but Oregon is a much better state overall.
