I remember when LA live and Victory was starting to build up. They were similar projects but LA did it the right way and Victory, well, didn't and is now suffering because of it.

I really like the direction DT LA is headed in.

One thing I hope that doesnt change is the Garment District. I go there all time to get stuff and there isnt anywhere else like it outside of NYC.

LOVE LOVE LOVE the Garment/Fashion district. So much fun and very unique. Downtown is going in a great direction. The cable car down Broadway (planned), the L.A. Live area in South Park, some more planned towers to fill in the skyline, a residential population that has doubled, etc... is taking the neighborhood in a good direction. I don't think it will ever get to NYC, Chicago, San Fran levels, but it will be good for here in So Cal.

Honolulu definitely deserves a spot in the Top 25 as well. In fact, as far as Downtown Shopping Boutiques, HNL may even be as high as 5th or 6th.

My list.

1. New York City
2. San Francisco
3. Chicago
4. Boston
5. Washington D.C.

6. Seattle
7. Portland
8. San Diego
9. New Orleans
10. San Antonio

11. Philadephia
12. Indianapolis
13. Atlanta
14. Austin
15. Miami

16. Denver
17. Pittsburgh
18. Minneapolis
19. Baltimore
20. Nashville

21. Memphis-St. louis
22. Charlotte
23. Sacramento tie (23)Ft. Worth
24. Salt Lake City-Kansas City
25. Houston & Dallas
My opinion:

Philadephia should be higher. As should Baltimore. LA makes the top 20...c'mon guys.

I know I seem biased, but based on the cities I've been to, CLEVELAND is way above Salt Lake, KC, Memphis, Nashville...never been to Houston, Dallas or Ft. Worth, so I don't know.

Cincinnati is underrated as well and it is higher than Salt Lake, Memphis, and Nashville.

Lastly, if we're talking vibrancy, Charleston, SC has got to be the most underrated Downtown I've been to in the US.

L.A has so many downtowns, i didnt know if to list it, I guess I should have. As for Las Vegas, since the stip isn't downtown, I didnt list it either.
