Hands down...Alabama.....it is so rich in beauty. You can have 4 seasons just by traveling the state. People are just so down home and nice.

It's in a great location and there is easy access to major airports for major travel.

I'm admittedly prejudiced, but Georgia is my choice. Why?
The wonderful climate.
The lush Blue Ridge mountains and their quaint towns such as Dahlonega, Young Harris and Clarkesville.
The beautiful sea islands on the coast with their majestic moss-draped oaks.
The Old South as embodied in towns such as Social Circle, Madison, Washington, Newnan, Thomasville and LaGrange.
The New South as embodied in cities such as Atlanta, Augusta and Columbus.
Savannah...need I say more?

If I could've voted for two states, I would've voted for Tennessee and Georgia.

Actually Columbus is kinda New South'ish. It's home to a couple of big nation-wide corporations which have brought quite a few Northern transplants to the city as well as manicured suburban office parks: AFLAC and Carmike Cinemas (2nd largest movie theater chain in the country). It's nothing like Atlanta, Charlotte or Nashville, of course.

We are not trying to start an argument. We were just trying to start up a convo

Me & GDK94 are simply wondering why you consider it the new south

After the post by JMT, I still dont think its the new south..... i consider it the deep south

I remember defending my reason for savannah not being a appealing travel destination for myself in past threads.... so dont play the victim card
