Right on! The Aeros, Rockets, Astros play right in downtown. And soon the Dynamo's will too. And yes, you're right we have a few parks in downtown, and an aquarium.
Many of the above cities qualify for this poll. I think some of the smaller cities like Greenville, Chattanooga, and Wilmington are the sleepers in this poll, among other smaller cities.
This thread is talking about Amenities - I don't consider skyscrapers, size, water installations, or typography to have anything to do with amenities.
I'd put them in order:
1. Orlando, FL - World class convention center, hospitals, airport, tourism, university, restaurants, resorts, football stadium, about to be a brand new basketball stadium, about to be a brand new concert hall, about to be light rail, about to be heavy rail. Sorry I know a lot of people hate on Orlando and its not my favorite city but it really does take this poll by a long shot when focusing on amenities.
After Orlando it gets a bit closer between Miami, Tampa, Atlanta, Dallas, Charlotte, and Houston. I think I'd rank them:
2. Atlanta
3. Dallas
4. Miami
5. Houston
6. Charlotte
7. Tampa

I wouldn't call it a 'long shot', but if we're talking about downtowns, I think a case can certainly be made for Orlando...there really is a lot going on down there.
Nevertheless, gird yourself for battle...this post will not go unnoticed.
You call me "sweatheart" again you'll be picking up your teeth with your broken arm. Got it? Did I insult or get personal with you? NO.
If the mods want to zing me for this...fine. I'm just tired of people who can't carry on a discussion without hurling names and insults. Grow up.

You forgot to mention the "World Class" musuem with a plastic tree in the middle in downtown, lol. Orlando, what a joke and a slap in the face to other cities in the south that have actually tried to do something with their cities then focus on a kiddie theme park.

This has gone beyond ridiculous at this point. If you intend to keep up this tired agenda, at least be honest enough to give credit where credit is due.
I was in Orlando not that long ago and found its downtown to be nice, but still underwhelming.
