Manhattan and Flushing (and probably Sunset Park) definitely are bigger than SF Chinatown. If LA's SGV is a Chinatown than definitely add that in too as bigger than SF.

The oldest Chinatowns in the US are those founded from the Gold Rush, so SF Chinatown is likely a few decades older than LA and NYC Chinatown.

San Franciso's Chinatown is the only one I've been to, so I don't know that I'm eligible to make comparisons. But SF Chinatown was impressive, easily one of the great ethnic neighborhoods in the States. And it has such a rich history. It's essentially the capital "city" for Chinese-American culture.

I've always liked the one in LA.

San Francisco has the most memorable Chinatown to me.

To me it's a contest between SF and NYC. The Chinatown in LA is very underwhelming.
