24 year old Chicago mail carrier shot multiple times while working and not the intended target. Seriously wounded, $50,000 reward posted by postal officials. Shooters were of course in a vehicle.

Not sure what your points about COVID and some deaths and other damages directly from COVID are related to regarding NY’s spiraling homicides this summer...and in many U.S. cities.

True, at least 11 killed in Philly week of 9/3-9/10. Philly’s current rate should see total about 425-430 range for the year.

Jackson, MS - 88 / 53.6

It will break it's 1995 record of 92 unfortunately. This year will be the first time in the city's history to reach and/or surpass 100 homicides.

Another mass shooting in Chicago overnight...6 shot, 2 killed in west side Austin area.

Unbelievable amount of mass shootings in urban America this summer.

It seems like 50+ shot and 5+ homicides are the norm for any given weekend now in Chicago.

Austin, TX is now at 34 homicides for the year, (which is a lot for the city, given that they average around 30 a year).
