99 % of people dont even know the gettos of the other cities, so I find people jumping up and down to live in L.A one funny as hell
I was borned a rasied in Houston thrid ward during the height of its crime period.... So only like other posters I actually have real expericnes with one of the cities on this list... even at the height of are crime rates we never came close to L.A levels

I think they mean that they would rather live in LA period than the other cities but yeah, a lot of people don't really know what LA can be like.

Today LA is statistically one of the safest big cities in the country.
I say Atlanta, since the ghetto is in the suburbs, and the poverty isn't stacked on top of each other. You probably won't be a victim of violent crime, unless you live in apartments.
Don't you mean used to be? The LA of today is much safer.
It can still be like that, it has gotten a lot less violent in many parts of the city than it used to be though. However, the violence is still very concentrated in certain cities/neighborhoods (Westmont, Watts, South Inglewood, etc.) and there's still a lot of non-violent crime throughout a lot of the flatlands including Central LA, downtown and immediately south of downtown.
