Both of these states are located in the South, but a huge chunk of the area where the people actually live isn't considered the "South" in the way Atlanta, Charlotte, or New Orleans is.
Which state would you consider to be more Southern culturally?
I'd say Texas. Pretty much just the pan-handle, which is a small population of Florida, identifies with southern culture. Although you do see from time to time the "dixie pride" confederate flag wavers even in Central Florida. But they aren't taken very seriously.

Well, the exact same could be said of those who display those flags in most of Texas. They're only somewhat common in East Texas anyway.
Which ever state has a larger % of whites and blacks will be more southern. Asians and Latinos don't strike me as people that accept southern behaviorism in their lives IMO.

We have plenty of Latinos in Texas who are very much influenced by the South and may even have accents.

I don't think Whites from the Northeast can be "southern", and they are all over Florida. Not to mention that a lot of blacks in FL are from the Caribbean (Haiti and Jamaica)
Texas is too geographically large to classify it as a Southern only state. Its a mixture of Southern & Southwestern depending on where you are at.
