I always thought Texas in general had a cheaper cost of living than Georgia, i'm not sure if this is accurate. For those who moved from Atlanta to Dallas, how is the cost of living for Dallas compared to Atlanta based on your experience so far?
I'd imagine Dallas to be cheaper than Atlanta, but not by a whole lot. They are both very affordable metro areas, I don't think anyone would feel much of a price shock going from one to the other.

Those are still two very affordable price points. But overall cost of living takes more than housing costs into account; you also have to account for utilities, groceries, transportation, taxes, etc.

I'd imagine grocery between the two would remain the same. Probably transportation too. Taxes would most probably benefit Dallas, as would gas prices. Don't know about utilities, I'm positive there's more air condition consumption in Dallas over summer, don't know anything about winter.
Yeah, I mean I agree that there's really no difference between the two but a lot of it has to shape up to the socio-economic class involved. I'd imagine for middle to upper class, no difference but for the lower, Atlanta seems to have a better leeway for all types. Probably not that much but yeah.
Dallas is way more expensive in housing and taxes. It does not matter the lack of state tax, these insane property taxes are wayyyy too out of line.
All good homes seem to be over $200K and skyrocketing (by 2020, housing in CA and TX will most likely be a match...once that happens..CA: mountains, beach, perfect weather..here I come lol) and the worst thing about these expensive houses is that they're old (around 10yrs) and very outdated.
Atl seems to have a lot of good homes available between $130k-$150k even more so if you stretch it to $200k.
I need to know like were do they double your income at like with ssi benefits
