Cool murals and agree the topic is subjective but it is true Philadelphia has more public art than any other city in America, and by far the most extensive murals.

Philadelphia is where modern day graffiti was invented in the 1960's and The Mural Art Program was actually developed years later to combat it.

And sadly today IMHO the blight these murals were used to cover is now being used a reason to not allow development. The program has come full circle.

Some I like and some I dont personally but all was meant to be temporary until market factors dictated otherwise

It has also had many postive effects for people and control of graffitti which was pretty bad in philly 20 years ago

Agreed. Although admittedly I was a little disappointed to see Frankie "blue eyes" and "Autumn" covered up.
