Miami way too many skyscrapers. Their is no way to take a picture of Miami's many skyline. It's impossible. When I first visited Miami, I was blown away!

Yeah, and that's why it wins, hands down.

I'm trying to figure out how a city can have "way too many skyscrapers".

I have a question about Miami.

How does it have so many skyscrapers with not that large a population?

It looks like a city of 5 million.

Are those buildings actually occupied?

No.

However ,Miami is beginning to build dense because it only has limited space compared to many other southern cities. it's going through the Manhattanization process.

Yes because plopping up 10 to 15 30 story skyscrapers in the middle of Macon,GA would be absolutely normal.

To be fair SOME are. Not all all are unoccupied.

It's not that they aren't occupied. They are just not as full as they should be because so much was built on speculation with speculators forfeiting their deposits rather than buying when the market hit the ceiling. We ended up with a huge glut of units, but they are slowly filling up with developers selling units at bargain prices while taking a cold shower.

Also, remember that occupied or owned can be two different things or the same thing, especially here in Miami where many jet setters from around the world have long owned a second or third home. Just because a unit isn't occupied doesn't mean somebody doesn't own it and isn't paying taxes and the maintenance fee on it.

Yes, we are on the southeastern tip of a relatively small peninsula and cannot encroach any more into the Everglades without destroying those wetlands which store up a large supply of fresh water.
