What do you think is the best city to make some real friendships with people? I guess you could also say which city is most social and friendly.

Cleveland Heights most definitely, a suburb on the east side of Cleveland. Most people are humble, friendly, and will talk to anyone of any race, creed, or background. People are very accepting and neighborly there.

I would say I've had the easiest time here in Charlotte, NC out of anywhere I've lived. Most difficult was Oklahoma City, OK and Fort Smith, Arkansas. I've learned that every city has a slightly different social culture so what works in one city may not work in another. Cities with a lot of transplants tend to be easier and cities with mostly natives tend to be more difficult to break into

I will say it does take time and persistence no matter where you live.

Philly is difficult. LA seems to be easy.

Austin. Rarely do I go out in that town and not meet someone.

I don't live there, but when visiting over three separate occasions found Denver to be very friendly. Of course people in hotels and restaurants were friendly, but more surprising was the average person on the street. Smiles, nods of acknowledgement, holding doors open cheerfully, etc. It was a nice change from other big cities.

I think it depends more on the person rather than the place they are in. If you are a fun and friendly person, it will be a lot easier to make friends no matter where you are. I've especially noticed this traveling abroad. Don't be afraid to step out of your comfort zone and initiate a conversation.

Agree. I've lived three different places in Delaware, two in Virginia, the Boston area, Kansas City, Houston and now Philly. I've found each of them to be "the easiest city in which to make friends." Pick your city, be yourself, and you'll do well.
