Not even close with your state. Buffalo can not ever pick up the slack to do even a fraction of New York City's work. And it's not being tough on Buffalo, there are only a few cities in the country that can do comparable work, yet still not match NYC's output.

For this thread, the states of Illinois and New York have no option.

Ha ha Nice. but What about Buffalo? I mean it is the next largest city if I am not mistaking with a decent downtown and a sports franchise.

But almost no relationship to NYC. I mean, come on, if we're doing that, then what's the difference between this thread and "what's the second largest city in your state?"

I think the main focus would be more like, if the existence of your city (the premier city in the state) what would be the next city to step forth and bring nearly identical work to the table, or the next group of cities that can.

Unfortunately in New York and Illinois, there is no secondary city that can get the pace. And it's not Buffalo's fault either, New York City has been claimed to not even have an equal in USA... so it's state is understandable.

Whoa guy chill. That being said. When I posted what I posted ORLANDO definately is not the second largest city nor is it the second largest metro so what you said is only how you seen it. I can understand that because your state is New York. Not a city in new York can compete with New York City.

Same thing with his post about cali. San Diego is the second largest city but he chose San Fransisco.

I only said Buffalo because I would think of it as the next city in New York to take place behind New York. if You dont Like that oh well how about Elizabeth New Jersey, happy?

In MN, if St. Paul were to disappear, Minneapolis could probably fill the bill as the state's premier city.

Dallas probably compliments Houston, if Houston was to dissapear Dallas would be "in charge".
