Yeah, my landlady once dragged me to a movie gala which she wanted me to attend. And her professional contacts thought we were a couple And she was in her 60s

At least I got to meet a budding actress who was looking to make it big. But, it looks like she's still trying to make it big as I haven't seen the name anywhere yet LOL But she was hot

I still have her publicist's contact info, probably I might give a call one of these days and check if she will marry me, lol.

Seriously, I wanna see this movie and am out of companions in CO. And they look at you weird when you hit the theatre alone, whispering if the dude's gay or something.

Yeah, I hear ya ! I wouldn't go alone either, only because it's no fun alone ! Hope you can find someone to go with though. If not, go to a matinee, no one will be there, and no whispering about you...lol.

I saw the movie last night. Big FAT waste of $10.50! The movie tries to play both sides of the fence you find in modern debates over religion. One minute it has a religious message and the next minute implies how stupid and divisive religion can be.

The movie is listless and lifeless for the most part, to be honest. Now it is NOT because I am not a Christian why I a so down on the movie. It really is stupid as you will see. Ina previous life when I was a fundamentalist Christian who got moist over end time mayhem, believing big bad evil atheist were going to take over the world, kill Christians and burn bibles, the end of the movie would have been all that mattered to me and is probably the reason [some] Christians would enjoy it. Since I once believed the world was going to turn on Christians, we were taught that as Christians we should study the bible and memorize it because bad people were going to destroy all the bibles and it was necessary to memorize it. *SPOILER ALERT* This is what Denzel Washington's character does and when he no longer has the bible, he is able to recite the whole book and have it rewritten. For some Christians, this is what they want to be able to do so that will appeal to them.

Now, the movie is stupid and contradictory because on one hand, we are told the Bible (religion) was the cause for some huge war that destroyed the world as we know it yet on the other hand, Denzel Washington's character is happy to have a copy and want to preserve it all cost. It divided and destroy the world yet he keeps it around. His antagonist, on the other hand, wants the book because he is aware it can be used to control the masses. Clearly the message is - the bible in the hand of man is a VERY dangerous book.

The other conflicting element in the movie is the idea of "faith." Denzel's character claims he "heard a voice in his head" and knowing this, in any situation reflects someone who is nuts, he HAS to state he is not crazy for listening to a strange voice in his head. Obviously, those of faith have to reaffirm to the world they are not crazy for doing something they would be considered crazy for in other similar situations.

Outside of these issues, the movie is still lifeless, at times absurd and exceeds its grasp.

There were no rape scenes. There was an attempted rape scene and nothing graphic happened in terms of rape.

Did you take a potty break... there was one attempted rape scene, and one that ended in death.

They didn't show the actual rape of the girl, they showed her dead, eyes wide open body after the gang rape occured.

godspeed,

freedom

The other scene you're speaking about gives a DISTANT shot where we are left to interpret there was a rape. No actual scene of a rape occurred. It is implied.

The person up top left the impression out there that viewers are going to see scenes of rape in the movie and there are none. All we have is an attempted and implied scene.

Oscar winner Denzel Washington advised Will Smith to pray with MUHAMMAD ALI before portraying the boxing legend in ALI. The MALCOLM X star insisted Smith would need to channel the spirit of the black leader and pray for guidance before tackling the part on the big screen. Washington explains, Try to capture the spirit. That is what I was telling Will Smith. He called me one time before he started ALI. That was a tough film. And he was saying, What should I do? And he did the voice for me, and he had it, and I said, I think you should go to Michigan and pray with Ali, you know? That is what I did every day. I mean seriously, when I did CRY FREEDOM and when I did Malcolm X I would just pray every morning before I came out of that trailer. It was like, Malcolm come on cause it is not for me… it is for you and for those hopefully that have affected. SOURCE
More of Denzel
Speaking of magic, Washington has cited the experience of preparing to do the whipping scene in Edward Zwicks Glory as a moment of spiritual visitation and consultation. And then I prayed to all the spirits. I said, Look fellas, ladies, and I am talking about those who have been, and I said, Look I do not know. I am just rolling with you all. Just whatever happens I am going. And I said are you with me? Come on! I am serious! And I went out there and what hit me was, I am in charge. Never put my head down. This is not the first time this has happened to me the character and in fact I had the guy build all the scars to put on my back – and I went out there with an attitude that I am going to take this and not fold. But it hurt. And the tear was actually real. You know, you just allow it and you are thankful for it. It is not technical. It is not science. It is spirit. This spirit was probably the same kind that director Spike Lee was convinced visited Denzel Washington during the filming of Malcolm X. For a long time Mr. Lee has told the story of when the actor was on the set giving a speech as Malcolm during the human rights activist-leaders days as an orator under the tutelage of Elijah Muhammad, saying that after the scripted speech was over and he yelled cut, Washington would continue with his characters power and fire and brimstone speech for another minute or two, much to the astonishment of other cast and crew members. When Washington stopped, he said to Mr. Lee that he did not know what just happened, adding, that was not me, Spike. SOURCE

Yes, heaven forbid anyone dare practice their freedom of religion in THIS country. Christianity is just as unholy as anything you've described above.
How about you do a background check on your own religion, your Jesus and your Bible. The truth is not very flattering..
