For many years Christian Aid has been helping ministries in Burma and has witnessed many wonderful reports from missionaries laboring in this troubled land. But this latest startling report tells of 4,700 Buddhist monks who accepted Christ as their Savior.
Why is this miraculous? Buddhism has nothing about it that would preclude someone also being a Christian.
When some accepts Jesus as their Savior it is a glorious time for believers of Christ. There is a verse I can't remember where just now, it says the angels in Heaven rejoice when some becomes saved.
why couldnt they just be Buddist? i dont find anything wrong with their religion...
that is the one thing i cant stand--trying to change people from one religion to another. i can understand trying to conform atheists, but if people are worshipping God in their own way, why MUST they be called christian?

This is what I'm saying though...they can easily be both. There is nothing about Buddhism that would prevent a Buddhist from believing in the story of Jesus, and deciding to be a Christian as well as being a Buddhist, and there is absolutely nothing about Buddhism that one would have to give up in order to also be a Christian.
If we knew more of the story from an unbiased source, I'd be interested to see exactly what happened. My bet would be that they're still Buddhists, along with whatever new beliefs they decided to take on.

i agree on both counts. we need an unbiased source and i highly doubt they will give up Buddism. after all the whole point to is reach higher understanding. i wish more people would open their minds to trying this.

It's not about religion, it's have having a personal relationship with the ONE true living God. And doing it "your own way" is not good enough. Jesus said He is the ONLY way.

Oh wait now...why is your opinion different in regard to atheists? We've got just as many good qualities as anyone else, why do you think we need to be "conformed"? You cannot stand it when someone tries to change people from one religion to another, but gee...those horrible atheists...they GOTTA CONFORM?
I do not see any difference between the attempt to convert someone from one religion to another, and attempting to convert an atheist into a theist.
