I'm not using aggression towards you geekigurl, although I can see why to you it might seem that way. Your story is sad and not unlike a friend of mine, and it hurts me to see so much suffering for anyone. It makes me mad, but mad at the enemy of our soul's.
But I hope you can understand that I have to be true to what He has made life in me, because His Truth of His Word, is the only hope this dying creation has. It's not idle talk, I've seen the power of it tangibly and it's power to transform lives in myriad ways, beginning with my own. We serve a G-d of miracles and there is nothing too great for Him. He is getting ready to set creation free, and what a glorious day it will be, for ALL OF US. Peace and blessings to you....

Yes? Then is man more righteous than G-d? Are we now to assume that because of the age of our flesh, the Spirit which is eternal, doesn't know as much as WE do about the general make of things and what is best for our ETERNAL state? Come on guys, think!
And you might be surprised that there are many things that are just that cut and dry once the historical and the moral context is understood with the added spiritual principles in place.

You have problems that make geekigurl's seem like a walk in the park.
geekigurl, your story will send ripples that may cause a crack in a fundamentalist's heart - perhaps big enough to allow a ray of compassionate light to enter.
It hurts. It hurts to have people you trusted with all of you turn their backs on you. "It hurts" is an epic understatement, but I can't really put into words how much. But like I said before, you and others here give me hope and encouragement, and that does strengthen me. I know in my heart that love always wins, and we will win our freedom. Even in the face of so much resistance I know that love always wins. You and others show me that.
Of course it hurts. Being on the receiving end of cruelty always does. You were failed by people. But, as you continue your journey, better people will lift you up because love IS the greatest force in the universe. Love extinguishes hate and injustice and cruelty and brings hope.
Keep hope alive. Spread love. Seek goodness in others.
(Love your enemies really does work, BTW. It makes them nuts. )

I'm struggling hard with the loving my enemies thing. Keeping hope alive and spreading love is easy...extending that toward those that oppose me, I want to. I really do. I'm trying.
You and others speak a lot of God hating sin, and judgment, etc. But you don't speak much about mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.
James 2:13
"For judgment is without mercy to one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment."
Mercy doesn't guarantee salvation though we all wish it did
