4 children from one family (my friend works with these children on a daily basis) were involved in an accident with their parents yesterday afternoon.
The youngest (Isabel) was thrown from the vehicle and died on the scene. The oldest child, a 4th grader, is in Childrens hospital in Birmingham in usury at this moment. She has a broken hip, punctured lung, punctured liver and other injuries. The other 2 children (twin boy and girl) who are in the 2nd grade were treated and released from the hospital with lesser injuries. The mother is hospitalized with non-threatening injuries. The father is in Critical condition. He has undergone one surgery and if he lives he will need more. He was thrown from the vehicle and was crushed under it as it turned over.
My friend went to their home about an hour ago and talked with the paternal grandfather of the children. He is taking it very hard of course.
Please pray for the recovery of the Father, mother and oldest daughter as well as for the loss of this youngest child. This family will need support for a long time as they deal with this.
Also remember the kindergarten class that will be dealing with the loss of one of their own.
Lastly pray for my friend. He is so deeply saddened by the loss of this child. Although unrelated, she has been a small part of his daily life for a couple of years now and one of the little joy's of his life. His last encounter with her was just about an hour before she died. She played the same little joke on him that she has been dong for about 6 months now. She would just laugh and giggle that she could get him every time. Then as they parted way's she was waving goodbye to him like she always did.

To the OP - I wish the family all the best through the grieving process, it's difficult to lose anybody, never mind whilst the rest of the family is also harmed. Just be there for your friend and be at his side. The doctors will do their job!
