But this is the answer to the OP's question. It is this statement that they make broader statements about.
Exactly--it was the "rich" of Jesus' time that they were talking about. It was difficult for such a man (or woman) to humble themselves and trust Christ.
I don't get why people on Earth would say that the rich people won't make it to Heaven when anyone who accepts Jesus Christ as their Lord & Savior will be in Heaven.
What amazes me, is how the Mega Church leaders of Religion became rich at the expense of the poor; and still do.
I completely agree. Just look at the list of celebrity pastors today that are fleecing the sheep.
In fact, I'm a missionary pastor, in that I actually get partially supported by donors. My church pays me about 1/3 of my monthly salary. But this church would have closed its doors a long time ago if not for my missionary agency placing previous missionaries, then my family here.

Outstanding work Vizio. I was ordained just before going on a mission back in the 1990's. I was totally supported by donors and took no money from the local churches. I do miss full time ministry.

Yep. We need to define "rich" and "Riches'. Paul felt rich in Christ and that worldly riches were nothing.
The riches I want are the ones stored up in heaven for me, God's approval and favor.
ASV Matthew 6:20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth consume, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
Those riches are nothing of this world.
21 for where thy treasure is, there will thy heart be also.

The first part of what you said reminds me of this video I saw a while back:
Someone I have a close personal relationship with once said:
"And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God."
He was in a position to know this!
RESPONSE:
My friend Ralph is planning to make it his mission in life to improve rich people's chances of getting into heaven.
Ralph is establishing a bank account in his name. The rich, who believe that it's less likely that they'll be saved, can improve their chances by sending all their money to Ralph. Thus they'll be poor and have a much better chance of getting into heaven!
It's a dirty job, but Ralph says he's prepared to do it!
Its only in other countries. In America rich folks do get to heaven. Just ask conservatives.
Yep, because if you ask Liberals they think it is here now.
