A favorite scripture used to induce fear in the context I often heard it growing up. I was expecting to find your thoughts on this passage - but not so.

I'll give you mine -- it is easier to find God and sense his presence in a crisis when you have nourished your faith and kept yourself "built up in the faith" than it is if you have been neglecting the spiritual man within and spending too much time tending to worldly matters such as building a career or business, chasing after money or even pursuing romance, etc. If you suddenly lose a child or find out you've got a terminal illness, you will probably handle it better (find God and sense his presence (nearness) more easily if you have been focused daily and hourly on the things pertaining to the spirit. If you neglect spiritual exercise - you will become atrophied in that regard and it could be a challenge to find peace in a crisis. I define a crisis as anything that causes us to consider death or great loss. My grandmother used to say to me that eventually God would cut you off or cut himself off from you if you wait too long. Of course that was just her perception of how things are, not how things actually are. Does God ever really "move" or go anywhere - or better put, is there anywhere we can go where God is not?

I enjoyed your thoughts better. Thanks for sharing Heartsong. We truly can go out our door in the morning in joy and led forth in peace knowing the nearness of God in our lives.

In Isaiah 55: 6-7..............God said ``Seek you the Lord while He may be found, call you on Him while He is near....Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts, and let him return to the Lord , and He will have mercy on him , and to our God , for He will abundantly pardon ``..................See even believers can fall from grace in into curses , which God will not answer the prayers of people who have not repented and not turned away from the sin which brought on the curse ............... See the saved God is always there, but in sin lying spirits can tell them that ` God does not like you and is going `... ... but God is right there all the time , it is just Holy Spirit will judge the prayers of the unrepentant believer as faithless with the curses , which must be broken off with repentance and cleansing to Jesus , then the prayers will resume to be answered ................. Lost people who do not seek after God prayers cannot be answered , as these people do not have the Spirit of God on their lives , But there is Holy Angels of God who keep a watch on unsaved people and reports to God all interest in turning to Jesus and His righteousness
