Jesus spoke about people winding up in Gehenna.

Hellfirist and soul-immortalist translaters render the word as "hell". Yet the two places are diametrically different. One is a place of eternal; torment while the other was an incinerator outside the walls of Jerusalem.

Since they are different, then why do the translators insist on rendering "Gehenna as "hell"?

Because it's Hell. Just like there are different names for God, Jesus, & Heaven, there are different names for Hell and Satan. You last days apostates are really something else. I wonder what grand excuse you'll have up your sleeve when you meet God on judgement day and he asks you "Why did you call me a hellfirist and soul immortalist?".

One of the chief qualities a translator is required to have is objectivity. Translators are supposed to convey original meaning and not be swerved by doctrinal preferences. That's called mangling scripture. That's the real issue with translating Gehenna, Sheol, and Tartarus as hell. It is doctrinally biased and a sacrifice of accuracy in the service of personal opinion and a blatant disregard for the original meaning. In short, it's an attempt to convey what one thinks the Bible is saying and not what the Bible clearly says. That's why I never read Bible versions that are marred by that type of unethical activity since when I read the Bible I am not interested in what the translator doctrinal preference is but in accuracy of translation

Well, one would expect an attempted rebuttal from hellfirist soul-immortalists and/or anti-religionist atheist jihadists who rely so much on brandishing that word "hell" word about in accordance with their own individual agendas.

Gehenna is Hades.
No human is eternally in Hell until after the Final Judgement.

good day

Very good link sciotamicks, with good questions and good study. If only people weren't afraid to open up, as you say, and take a look at it.

Is that a criticism or a compliment?

What crap? Please be specific since I can't read your mind and know automatically what you are referring to or what the motives or intent of your statements are. Thanks.

Sciotamicks, are you watching the Matrix?
You forgot to include the "blue" pill of illusion.

Indeed, it's time for the red-pill of reality!
