Check out Evanston.

NOOOOOO run far away... they are very strange... like voodoo ..

I dont think they are there anymore, but their old church on 834 W Armitage was weird.. kinda had a louisiana voodoo priestess decor. the preacher and his associate preacher would slap each other with handkerchiefs,, during the sermon,,, the walls were decorated with mirrors and red wallpaper. very louisiana red light district decor.

I do not recommend it.

Have you been inside Catholic churches? Those are scary to me. All the lavish gold and excessive ornaments. I don't know how anyone can worship there and not be distracted.

Who is trying to raise themselves? I don't attend any church. I just find it interesting that someone would ridicule the interior of a black church when one of the largest religious organizations in the world has some downright scary places of worship. Of all the ways to describe, Louisiana voodoo? Really?

Then you would show where the comment is inaccurate, not say, essentially, "so are you!".

I have never been to that church so I can't vouch for it's accuracy. However, the fact that the person compared it to Louisiana is suspect, and based on the population that visits this forum, I'm willing to bet the comment was steeped in ignorance. As I said, Louisiana has a large Catholic population. I wouldn't be surprised if Catholicism is the main religion. What exactly is "Louisiana voodoo priestess" decor? An entire state has a specific decor? Ignorance.
