Yes, we know you have low crime, please don't come here to talk about how you have 50% less murders. Minus Chicago's gang on gang crime you are talking about the same murder rate. IE If you are not in a gang in Chicago you are not going to die.

Also, while I am talking about New York, I am in Manhattan sometimes where a family member owns a 3,000 sq foot condo off Central Park on 57th. We don't spend any time there because everyone in NYC's good neighborhoods are old. LIKE 7 YEARS OLDER on average than the average chicagoan. You city is for old rich people that touch children, and you can have them. We will continue to take normal young rich people.

I also think some New Yorkers secretly fantasize about a Chicago gang member attacking them to add excitement to their extremely lonely life surrounded by other old people.

Ok now hopefully this thread will be for Chicagoans and intelligently interested people again.

God another one just came up. Please crawl back into your NYC retirement caves and read a book or something.

I have to say, in all the years that I've posted on this board I've never actually seen a New Yorker flame Chicago.

The flaming always comes from people like dementor, who I imagine are not really in NYC.

So the solution to unwarranted anti-Chicago flames is to flame New York? Can't you just accept the both cities have a lot to offer? Most Chicagoans I know like New York quite a bit.

My gosh there's just so much anger in that post. Not to mention the gross misconceptions.

NYC is filled with old pedophiles is what I took from some of the writing in it. I'm not going to even bother dignifying such an ignorant statement.

It should be noted that NYC has both NYU and Columbia Universities. There are plenty of kids out here and plenty of places that cater to us. It unfortunate that the writer didn't feel a need to venture 2 subway stops from 57th street before making pronouncements about the whole city. Admittedly 57th st and most of midtown is dull and boring, but whose fault is it that tourists only stick to the nasty tourist areas? Or to where old rich family members live?

Agreed. Someone has seen too many Woody Allen movies, apparently.

Good question.

I think not.

I wonder which thread this guy is talking about. I have not seen any wacky posts lately from someone claiming to be from New York.

A hater telling others to stop hating???

My only experience with Manhattan is a couple of daytime trips...But all I saw were a bunch of skate punks, early 30's business types and tourists.

Mine experience has been that the vast majority of New Yorkers who comment on Chicago do so in a very positive way.

New Yorkers are savvy urbanites, secure in what their city has to offer. Such people enjoy the fact that there are the Chicagos, Bostons, San Franciscos, LAs, and DCs out there offering urban pleasures they can enjoy to.

Most new yorkers I know like Chicago, but then again most new yorkers I know are not internet trolls pretending to be from new york (or recent transplants from Nebraska with a trust fund and an urban chip on their shoulder). As a proud Chicagoan I can say honestly that I love new york, I go about once a year and have a great time whenever I do. I would have no problem living there if the stars aligned in such a way it actually made sense for me to do so, but i've never really looked into it.
