ComEd can be forced into looking up your past bills and electric usage. They can also be forced into installing a new meter. I mean 150% increase in one month? Something is terribly wrong.

The bill states est (for estimate) or act (for actual.)

I wouldn't know the first thing about reading it.... but I have the previous bill and in the same spot as this one it says "read date" not estimate... I guess I'll be wasting most of my AM on the phone with these mental defectives.

The ComEd website explains how to read your meter.

Cool thanks... something is amiss here... I walked out and checked it... with like 6 days to go in my billing cycle I've used 504kWh as opposed to the 1685kWh they said I used last month...

Yeah, our bills for the last three months were ridiculous, then when I went to look at the meter after the last one I found that the meter reading was over 3000 kWh less than reported on the latest bill. So watch for those estimates.

Strangely enough I've had the opposite issue. When I don't run A/C (which I rarely did this summer), my electric bills usually check in at about $35/mo. The last 3 bills have been in the $10/mo range. Something's going on over there.

Once the gas company applied my payment to someone else so I got a non-payment notice of some type. I had to go in and sit down with them and clear it up.
