As a female who has ridden on every 'L' line in Chicago except for the Skokie Swift, and has been riding the 'L' since the late 80's, I can say that I'm not overly jittery on public transportation, but I would avoid the Green Line at night (yes, I've ridden the Green Line, without incident, during the day).

haha the green line? People I knew from richer and nicer areas called that line the slave ship. It has the highest number of crime than any other L line. It serves the worst neighborhoods on the west and south side, I'd stay stay away from it if ur unfimiliar with the CTA, public transportation or Chicago in general.
