Hi,
This is my first thread,
.I will be coming to USA .My bank gave me a Mastercard Forex(prepaid) card.I have heard from friends that Mastercard is not accepted(in few places) in USA.Will I have any problems in chicago?

Mastercard is widely accepted. It is the most common card service organization in North America. Visa is second to Mastercard. American Express and Discover can be hard to use, and Diners Club is not widely accepted outside of more affluent urban areas.

MC is not a card service organization. It's a payment franchise network that gives card issuers, usually banks, the right to use their brand and payment processing network in return getting a percentage of the interchange fee.

Point is, 98% of places here that accept credit cards of any type will accept MasterCard. OP has no worries.

The only place that won't except master card is probably some hole in the wall neighborhood store which then might only be cash or visa with a min purchase limit.

I've never seen a place that accepts Visa that doesn't also accept Mastercard. Those two are almost always bundled together in a single merchant account.
