I have accumulated many cans over the last year and the place I use to recycle them closed a few years ago. Anyone know of a place to recycle cans for some cash, preferably on the north/northwest side.

Michigan or California...that's where you get 1 dime per can! I remember in Mexico, you can return the bottles to the Corona Company and get like 20% of your next case of beer. Illinois sucks for recycling as far as pay outs and discounts go. Just go to Michigan because it is so close.

Put 'em in a bag and leave 'em in the alley. A stewbum or a scrapper will snatch 'em up within the hour.

Isn't there a scrap-metal place right behind the Goose Island Clybourn/Sam's Booze Barn area?

Bucktown Recycling
4519 W Patterson Ave
Chicago, IL 60641

They are open Sun-Fri 8am-5pm. Closed on Saturdays.

Btw it is called Bucktown because the original location was at 1800 N. Milwaukee.

It spent a few years at 3041 N. Rockwell before it moved to its present location.
