Are there any community colleges with dorms in Chicago? If not, are there any four year colleges that allow community college students to share the dorms?

You could try the International House at the UofC. They say "Students and affiliates of the University of Chicago and from all other Chicago-area educational, professional, and cultural institutions are eligible to live at International House. Residents are typically graduate students or 3rd and 4th year undergraduates over the age of 18. Applicants must be 18 years of age or old to be eligible to live at International House"
International House: Prospective Residents
They charge $2125 per quarter, but at least you always get a single:
International House: Residency Rates & Terms

In the summer, many dorms, such as the UCC in the Loop, will admit basically anybody. Ask if they have air conditioning! (Int'l House doesn't.)

I am familiar with community colleges and know of no sponsored housing. Which CC are you looking at attending?

The experience is important to me.

I'm not sure which one I'd like to attend, since I was trying to figure out the housing situation first. It looks like it'll be none now though.

Thanks for the link, Intergalactic!

I'm interested in Chicago State U, but it seems to have a bad reputation. I'm worried about how it would look to future employers and grad schools.

Don't go there! If you want an urban, diverse public university experience without paying too much, go to UIC.

UIC is like the most diverse in Chicago and maybe the entire Illinois.

UIC's deadline has passed, though. I had an application open with them awhile back, but ran into a hiccup with transcripts and now it's too late.

So Chicago State is really as bad as they say it is? It doesn't look like I have many options left if I don't want to pay a ridiculous tuition fee.
