What wisdom does this story offer?

Quinn, Hynes eye tax hikes :: The SouthtownStar :: News (http://www.southtownstar.com/news/1993686,011710demgov.article - broken link)

Do not vote for the Democratic candidate for governor of Illinois in November.

Looks like Mr. Hynes helped the governors of Illinois dig this hole since he was elected 11 years ago. I personally don't think it would hurt to raise the grocery tax 2 cents on the dollar. .

AGREED!!! The taxes here are REDICULOS!!! Hate to say it but Repubs got it right when they say, higher taxes cause businesses and residents to flee Illinois only leading to the need to further raise taxes to maintain revenue. To anyone who has ever played "Sim City" they will understand this Repub mindset. To those who haven't played the game, play it a couple times, adjust the taxes and watch what happens. You lower the taxes and the city grows massive litterally over night and your revenue it sustainable, you leave them moderate and you have slow growth but decent revenue and can buy nice things for your city, you raise the taxes too high everyone flees, businesses fold, and basically you are left with a wasteland in no time and are voted out of office! Hmmm kinda like what's in store for Quinn soon.

That's what I plan on doing this time around. I've been trying to read up on Andy McKenna as much as possible. Otherwise, I'm seeing what Ryan is all about.

The next governor will raise taxes and slash state services, regardless of his party affiliation. He will also very likely be an unpopular one-termer because of it.

Why do you think we have such a crappy choice of candidates? No one of merit or stature wants to be a part of this horror show right now.

^ Andy McKenna is the only candidate that says he would not raise taxes. He is looking mighty appealing to many people. ^

I live in IL and I'm p*ssed that it's being OUTSOURCED!!! Aren't there already enough of OUR jobs going to OTHER countries?!!

What? No one here in the state of IL has any managerial experience? Puh!
They could find talent right here in IL, or anywhere else in the US to fill the position! This is just another way for crooked politicians to steal money from the lottery and cover their collective a$$ and blame it on the fact that it was OUTSOURCED and they personally didn't have anything to do with missing money.

Nothing surprises me when it comes to crooked, greedy, seedy Chicago politicians.
