This is why it is clear that I'm not qualified to post in this thread, and why I've really tried to stay out of political debates (one of my favorite hobbies) over the past few months. I have absolutely no concept of $1,000,000,000. I see that and just think, "Damn that's a lot of zeroes."

How do you even decide how you spend that much money?

If that doesn't help solidify the Olympic bid (in some way), then I do not know what will. Some of this money has to go to infrastructure, right?

1 billion is almost offensive. Think of New York as receiving 800 billion in bailout moneys, Detroit gets 140 billion, and Chicago gets 1billion. We should be angry and we have the right to be angry.

Isn't that just the number given directly to the City government? I think we'll see a lot more money than that after the State and Federal expenditures in the Chicago region are factored in.

Default yeh but

True, but the point is none of our companies NEEDED a 100b+ bailout in the first place... The money should be shared between regions...

Your post makes no sense as a response to my post. People are complaining that the $1 Billion is too small, not that we "aren't sharing with other regions".

Default yes it does!

yes it does! I am agreeing 1 billion is too small. I am agreeing we'll see more. But I am also emphatically stating we will not receive 1/2 of the bailout money sent to Detroit or New york.
