You know, this is Chicago you're talking about. If you had posted this in 1920, it still wouldn't have been shocking news.

cops being shot anywhere anytime is not good news. if they shoot armed uniformed police officers what will they do to you and me. decriminalize self defense now. ban personal injury suits if injury occurs in the commission of a crime and our jails will become empty.

Chances are they'll shoot a cop before they'll shoot you- who would want to kill a potential customer? j/k

No they have a personal grudge against cops, not against the average everyday civilian. That's why it's considered dangerous to become a cop.

all those who are up in arms when a 15 or 16 year old gets shot dead by the police in these same neighborhoods...take notice! it's a shame but in these neighborhoods there is no value for life. you can't be up in arms when teenagers get shot by the police because they're the ones who do most of the shooting!

bullet from a 38 fired by a 16 year old or fired by a 30 year old feels the same.

As I mentioned in another thread, I once saw a guy try to stab a cob on Cermak under the Dan Ryan. The police quickly disarmed the guy, and threw him on the ground while shouting obscenities. In my mind, they were still far too professional! That guy could have used a kick or ten after the crap he pulled. But it's good to know that our cops do have restraint in extreme circumstances, I guess, and they did a superior job taking this jerk in (I later found out that he had just held up a Walgreen's prior to this incident).
