The idea that Blago was withholding funds from Children's Memorial Hospital pending a $100,000.00 political contribution is so beyond disgusting to me.

yeah, i don't like either one and don't have faith in obama but i can't fault the man for anything yet.

That particular one also has me steaming. And he's a father! Was also disgusted about his maneuvering to get that newspaper editor fired (not sure is they released the editor's name). Yeah for free press...

p.s. Just heard that Mike Flannery/CBS News is trying to confirm the name of that Tribune editor.

A lot of it is due to what the political culture has historically been. Really poor campaign regulations allow the problem to continue. Corruption goes all the way back to William Lorimer, Al Capone and Len Small. My favorite so far was Betty Loren-Maltese - she was frickin' nuts, Blago may have outdone even her tho'.

The weird thing is that the culture also has a tendency to create reformers - Thompson, Stevenson, Anderson, Simon....Obama? Time will tell.

I'm thinking one must be John Kass.
