Its a snowy day here in Dixon and this 66 year old White Sox fan for over 50 years is reliving the sensational year of 2005. Our beloved White Sox finally won the World Championship.

This year its time to remember those days. These guys were the ones who gave us that championship and who have now left the team.

One of the first was one of my favorites. Aaron Rowand our centerfielder. Who can forget all the great plays he made. Then there was Pods our left fielder. The fastest guy on the team and stole all those bases to fire up " Ozzie ball ". And of course one of the greatest hitters of all time Frank Thomas. He didn't play in the world series, but really did deserve his ring.

Others i remember are Carl Everett, Willie Harris, Geof Blum, Iguchi, Ozuna, Perez, and some great pitchers, Freddie Garcia, Jon Garland,Orlando Hernandez, Neil Cotts, Hermanson, Marte, Cliff Politte. Who can forget all they did for this team of champions.

Now it is time for some more to leave. Joe Crede our great third baseman and who can forget Juan Uribe and all that he contributed.

We are down to the precious few from that great team. Let's name them and remember.

Jermaine Dye MVP of the World Series
Paul Konerko Team Captain and leader by example
AJ Pierzynski Catcher certainly noone will ever forget.
Mark Buehrle Our steady number one starter for so many years.
Jose Contreras Sensational when on his game.
Bobby Jenks The big guy. Closer to this day.

As always, there is Ozzie Guillen the manager who led this team to the championship.

This past year we got the Divison Title but that was it. My mind goes back to 2005 and all the glories for Chicago. And now we have so few left from that great team. Time to celebrate and remember how great those times were. Especially today when we need some cheering up in these desparate economic times.

So let those memories flow. Time for all White Sox fans to remember one of the greatest things to happen in Chicago and Illinois for many years.

Yes, it was great. I sure hope we can see it once more someday.

Now, we're down to only Konerko, Pierzynski, Buehrle and Jenks left on the roster...although Freddy Garcia, at least for now, is back too.

I hope this season starts going a little better and the last couple games have been.

The whole "Jenks choking" just added to the drama. I loved Dye and thought he was one of the most talented of the bunch. And the whole "roof on - roof off" deal.

That was one awesome season.
