It raises legitimate questions about the failings of Chicago, however, most of those failings have to do with racial, economic and socioeconomic issues rather than purely "political" ones. Chicago is a city where the chasm between the haves and the have-nots is deeper than almost anywhere else.

Sometimes I can't resist the urge to wade in there, but almost every time I do I quickly regret it. It gives me a knot in my stomach knowing that I share a democracy with people who think that shouting talking points and sound bytes at each other is the same as having informed opinions.

Democracy is dead, and replaced with an Idiocracy and a "post-fact world". Scary.

This country never was a Democracy-it is a Democratic Republic.
I would have no problem with the U.S.A. actually becoming a true democracy, but it would be impossible to implement.

Getting rid of the electoral college would be a start.

Yeah. The Dems promised that after 2000.They ran off that promise to gain control.

They have control of congress now. Have they tried to do it? Nope. They need to be held accountable.

I do not think it has been brought up in session since 2000.

The electoral college might very well put their man in this year.

Therefore they are in no hurry to get rid of the electoral college.
