A lot of my favs have been mentioned, so Im going to be a bit unortodox and say the Coyote Building. Its not flashy, but I love the way it commands attention on that chaotic corner. At night, theres also something slightly sinister about it, and it still has the gritty feel from before WP gentrified...I dunno, its great.

This is a common mistake. The Chicago Board of Trade buidling is taller than the Prudential building, and it's several years older.

This is a great thread! I love seeing the diverse architectural styles of our beautiful city - preserving Chicago's historic buildings is vital. I love the architecture of Henry Ives Cobb. Sadly, the Chicago Athletic Association and it's rich history is threatened. Founded by Marshall Field. Cyrus McCormick, A.G. Spalding and others, Wrigley and several other members bought the Cubs in 1905 and took the club's logo for the Cubs. Threatened: Chicago Athletic Association on Flickr - Photo Sharing! He was the architect of the Newberry Library and pre-1900 buildings on the campuses of Lake Forest College and the University of Chicago.
These Cobb buildings in Chicago have been demolished:
Potter Palmer Mansion
Owings Building
Boyce Building
Chicago Title and Trust
Hartford Building
Chicago Federal Center
Chicago Opera House
Some have been replaced with new buildings with the same or similar names, while progress is wonderful, seeing some Chicago's rich history go by the way of the wrecking ball really saddens me.

311 S Wacker, with its palm trees. Wrigley Building. The Old Post Office, I hope they can renovate it and keep it straddling the Ike.

I like the Marquette Building because one of the Native Americans featured on the plaques in the lobby has the same nickname as me!
