To me, a safe affordable place in Chicago would be Mt. Greenwood, Evergreen Park, Oak Lawn, Oak Forest, Lyons, Berwyn, If these are too espensive for you, then maybe you should stick with Houston.

I’m comparing the homes from Schaumburg, Aurora and Joliet that have much nicer homes and cost less. The homes in Chicago that cost between 200K-350K look mostly terrible for the prices they are offering or are in bad areas of the city. Also, I thought we were talking about Chicago, yet you’re mentioning all these suburbs that are not really part of the city. Although, Evergreen Park looks like it is close enough to the city and it does have better homes and affordable. Thanks for the link.

No problem, my pleasure. Evergreen Park is bordered by Chicago on two sides, and has been safe and stable for a while. All the suburbs I recommended either border Chicago or close, are affordable and nice. We are talking about Chicago here, and Schaumburg, Joliet and Aurora are not even remotely close to Chicago distance wise.

Oh I know that those places are around 30 minutes to 50 minutes away from Chicago, I had originally mentioned them as a comparison since the homes they have in those areas are much nicer than the homes in Chicago when you compare the same lower price ranges.
