WestSideMillennial, damba, et.al: 2 things: # 1.) I did NOT contract any illness when I attended the Chinese New Year parade this year in Chicago (This is MY year, the year of the Rat!) and # 2.) I could REALLY go for some great Hunan Chicken, Sushi or Korean BBQ right about now, despite only being 6:20 a.m.!... I'm planning to be down this Sunday since temperatures are supposed to warm up, and may in fact settle on some good Asian food!

As memory recalls, I believe that many Asian neighborhoods are actually in the northern suburbs ( Skokie, Niles, Evanston, etc). I can't necessarily vouch for restaurants, but for actual population centers, I'd look north..

MassVt, good day. I certainly have seen many Korean establishments (restaurants, etc.) in the northern suburbs, especially driving northbound on Milwaukee Avenue. And when I attend St. Peter Catholic Church in Skokie, the population appears 50% Filipino... Thank you for sharing!

Well after all the planning I did NOT even have Asian food on Sunday. I did, however, stop in The Book Cellar in Lincoln Square. I met a really nice couple, and I am sorry to say that I forget the name, but they had said they had some good sushi on Western Avenue. I believe it's near the corner of Lawrence and Western. Anyone else know that place? Thoughts??

They all are amazing. But from my own criteria, either Argyle, or Albany Park. Why? They have diversity of business as well. And as urban neighborhoods and demographics wise, I would rank these superior. That's just me though. The best food is in Chinatown and Bridgeport though imo.

japster28, yes. And these days Chinatown has some Korean and Thai establishments. I've been to Ahjoomah's Apron. It's not as tasty as my San Soo Gab San! But, their Chicken Dak Gui is rather tasty!

So last week I met a nice couple outside of Gene's Deli in Lincoln Square. They both are of Filipino descent. Today I came down again and met up with the guy (of the couple). We ate at the restaurant a couple blocks west of the Square that some here have mentioned. Isla Filipina. (Forgive me if I misspelled it). We ordered Tapa and Tocino. Very tasty!!! He agreed it was probably one of the better Filipino restaurants in the city! Thank you to all that contributed to this post!

Hmm, well today I road my bicycle from Lincolnwood to Lincoln Square. I came past Bryn Mawr and Kimball. And WHAT was going on at Boo Il Restaurant?!? There was a line of people waiting to get in at noon. Anyone out there can tell me what I've been missing?
