yeah that sign was around a lot when i lived at sheridan/diversey. now i live in ukrainian village and poo isn't really such a problem, at least on my block.

I agree. I am a very responsible pet owner (i.e. pick up poop, make her sit so people can pass on the sidewalk, don't let her run up to other dogs without permission). I despise irresponsible pet owners. They make it so that we all get the suspicious 'are you going to clean up after your dog' looks of disdain....
I actually started tying plastic bags around the handle of my dog's leash and you wouldn't believe the difference. I also tend to carry a few extra and have been known to hand one to an owner who had every intention of not picking up their dog's poop.

My neighbor in West Lakeview actually picked up the crap from his lawn, put it on a piece of paper that said "you must have forgotten this" and left it on the sidewalk. It stayed there for about a week before he actually cleaned it up. The only thing that made me mad is that we have a dog and always clean up after her.... I think he thought it was us! Sigh.
