Moving just might be a more pleasant experience in the winter,as opposed to the summer. You don't have to deal with the heat and humidity, and snowfall in Chicago, while decent, isn't likely to affect transport issues much at all. There will be fewer vacancies, but also fewer people looking to move, too..
