From what I've read on various blogs, it was an actual mistake (whether or not this was the original mistake, I'm not sure) which resulted in a ton of people getting "chi-tonw" tattoos in "solidarity" with the wronged customer. It ALL just makes my jaw drop.

EDIT: I only had it slightly wrong--the copycat tattoos were had by the tattoo artist and his friends, as a show of solidarity for the artist, in protest of the anger brought on by the customer. Still makes no sense to me, but this article describes the whole scenario in detail: http://blogs.chicagotribune.com/news...3/chitonw.html

Sadly, that is the work of the recipient not the shop. Any tattoo requires a sticker placement and detail approval from the customer before tattooing so if you had the blue ink on you and didn't realize that it was misspelled that's on you. Besides, anyone with a face tattoo deserves the kind of reality check that a misspelled tattoo allows for.

So I ended up with ButterFat Studios (Esther Garcia...hopefully she'll be my go-to artist from now on...fingers crossed) and I'm very happy with my results. I've got the pics posted on my myspace if anyone would like to take a gander: MySpace - Paddy O' - 26 - Male - Iowa City, Iowa - myspace.com/102597226

I love Esther. Her work is great and many friends of mine use her exclusively. I think you'll be very happy with her as your forever artist.
