Hey everyone! I am hoping someone can help asap.
I am representing an organization I am not able to disclose at this time. We are looking for an event venue in and around Chicago to host an after party/concert post Grateful Dead reunion shows the weekend of July 3rd through 5th.

We specifically need occupancy of minimum 1500 to 5000. Additionally, we would be having musical acts from 11 pm. to 7 am each evening.

We are not particular at this late date; we had a previous venue but unfortunately lost it. So if anyone knows even a closed venue or club that has a PPA and possibly a liquor license, it would work. Ditto areas; ideally it would be great to be by Soldier Field but we are not adverse to being in any other communities such as Pilsen etc. We had considered Mi Tierra for example.

If you know of ANYTHING that might fit the bill for this, please contact me either here or via email:
karenemangold@gmail.com

Thank you for any help you can give.

The problem you're going to run into, in addition to the short notice, is the "until 7am" part. I can't imagine any of the above-board venues are allowed to stay open that late.

Otherwise, venues meeting your capacity requirements that don't appear to have anything booked right now include the Riviera, the Aragon, the Chicago Theater, and maybe the Portage Theater.

Here's a list of event venues that you can sort by various criteria, including capacity:

Yeah, though I think a few factors would be if alcohol is being served there and what kind of area the venue is in. If it's not in a very residential area, I bet there might be some room to make it happen. City might have a problem with the alcohol part of it if it's planned on being served there since the latest a bar can close is 5am on a Saturday (4am every other day).

Theres a limited number of venues that can accommodate those sizes, and given all the Dead stuff that weekend, plus it being 4th of July weekend (and 3 weeks away), I seriously doubt you will find anything this late in the game, esp close to downtown. And especially not for the entire 3 day weekend.

Not to mention, I dont think anywhere with a PPA license will be allowed to be open until 7AM due to noise (maybe Im wrong since it sounds like you had something lined up prior, but I've never seen anything go that late in Chicago. The VERY latest bars/clubs, of which there are few, close at 5). And if its a "closed" venue, then they are not going to have an active PPA anyway and you are opening yourself up to a whole lot of liability issues, esp given the attendance size youre citing.
